The Return of Rhinegeist: Featured Brewery Partner

When The Rail first began partnering with Ohio-based breweries featuring a handful of their unique brews on draft throughout the seasons, we chose Rhinegeist from Cincinnati, Ohio to kick off the program.  Since then, we’ve expanded and brought you suds from dozens of breweries across the Buckeye state. But we think it’s time to go back to where it all began, serving that popular beer from the Over-The-Rhine Brewery District.

If you’ve been following our blog, you likely already know a thing or two about Rhinegeist and their West Coast brewing style. Brewmasters say of their style, “We aggressively hop our beers as well as brew lower alcohol styles that shine with finesse. The yin/yang of our brewing philosophy is hoppy/sessionable and we aim to brew beers where ‘the first sip calls for the third.’”

The craft beer brewery offers seven core beers year-round, about a dozen seasonal beers, dozens of limited edition brews, plus Cidergeist, a series of craft ciders.

Rhinegeist says, “We can all of our year-round beers and ciders because we not only like the aluminum canvas for our flavor grenades, but that’s what best for the beer, and that to us, is paramount.”

As our featured Ohio brewery of the season, Rhinegeist will be available in all five Rail locations through December.

Here’s what’s on tap at The Rail in October:

- Truth, a dry IPA brewed with Citra, Simcoe Amarillo and Centennial hops at 7.2% ABV.

- Crash, an explosively hoppy Pale Ale with tropicality, citrus, peach, tangelo and papaya at 5.4% ABV

- Franz, Rhinegeist’s Oktoberfest beer at 5.4% ABV

But those beers will change in November and again in December, so stay tuned to what’s on tap by following The Rail on social media.

Also be sure to take advantage of our partnership specials with Growler Night every Thursday and Friday, where you can take home a growler fill of any Rhinegeist draft for only $10! Plus, you can try all four Rhinegeist taps with our $10 featured beer flight any day of the week. We’ll drink to that!
