FeBREWary Feature on Wolf's Ridge Brewing
Wolf’s Ridge Brewing is a family-owned and operated brewery located in the heart of Downtown Columbus. When they opened in September 2013, they didn’t start off like many of the area’s new breweries, but as a full-on Brewpub, exclusively serving their own beer and food from the very start. After performing extensive research on popular brewpubs, the father-son duo, Bob and Alan Szuter, believed it was important to have a restaurant as part of the overall business model for a successful brewery. With this concept they also knew the best option was to keep it simple, starting with a few core beers, then slowly adding some seasonal specials throughout the year. Since opening, Wolf’s Ridge has expanded on this concept and now offers 10-15 beer selections at their tap room.
Wolf’s Ridge Brewing quickly became a beacon for Craft Beer advocates and a must-try spot for Columbus beer lovers and foodies alike. Their selection of award-winning beers is surpassed only by their amazing menu, which recommends perfect pairings to help you decide the best drinks to complement your food.
Although starting out, Bob and Alan planned on offering “just a few beers… an IPA, wheat beer and a porter,” the brewery has grown to showcase a much wider range of styles, with their current tap list including an Imperial Breakfast Cream Ale and a Barrel Aged Sour with Coriander and Rose Hips. Simply said – their beer is anything but ordinary or simple. Over the last four years, Wolf’s Ridge has grown with the craft beer industry, always producing something new and exciting for their consumers, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
While the Columbus taproom is definitely worth a visit, throughout the month of FeBREWary, you can find Wolf’s Ridge in northeast Ohio with two featured taps at each Rail location, including their Clear Sky Cream Ale, Ridge Trail American Pale Ale, Watch Tower Strong Ale, L’Abondance Saison and Day Break Coffee Vanilla Cream Ale.
