Millersburg Brewing Company: Featured Summer Brewery

We’re officially in the dog days of summer, and our team at The Rail can’t think of any better way to kick off a refreshing season than with a new brewery partner! Meet Millersburg Brewing Company, a charming northeast Ohio brewery.

Established in 2012, Millersburg Brewing is located on East Jackson Street, across the street from the courthouse in Millersburg, Ohio. On their journey so far, Millersburg’s founders proudly share, “Starting out as a labor of love in the basement of a 1920’s building, our brewery is our dream come true.” Their mission is to create classic brews for today’s taste, and their vision is simple – to create excellent beers, with focus on their local and statewide economy. Millersburg believes in supporting local and Ohio craft beer, and in sharing these core values with the brewery, we’re so excited to showcase their awesome beer this summer!

Although Millersburg is a small local brewery, they have not let their size limit the impact they can have on the craft beer world. In the spring of 2015, Millersburg increased their production capacity by 75%, allowing them to distribute across 35 northeast Ohio locations, and they continue to grow today. Millersburg also earned national acclaim when they took home their first award from the Great American Beer Festival in 2016, winning a gold medal in the aged beer category for Doc’s Scotch Ale.

Millersburg Brewing Company draws inspiration from local leaders, landmarks, legends and lore when naming their beers. The Legend of Wild Rosie bonds all their packaging, with Wild Rosie the horse displayed in a different theme on every can and showing her tail on the back of each label. Legend has it that Wild Rosie was a trusty, beer-loving horse belonging to a local farmer, and you can read the full tale about this magical pair here.

At the Millersburg brewery and tap room, you can enjoy 12 brews on draft in a historical yet modern setting you won’t soon forget. Lucky for you, now through October, you can enjoy exclusive Millersburg tap handles at all Rail locations as well!

Millersburg Brewing Co. Beclouded IPA: A juicy and moderately bitter New England Hazy IPA, coming in at 6.5% ABV and available in Akron, Canton, North Olmsted, Strongsville and Dublin.

Millersburg Brewing Co. Nuthouse Peanut Butter Porter: A “no peanuts used” twist on a traditional Peanut Butter Porter, smooth with mild hints of Chocolate and Coffee, coming in at 6.25% ABV and available in Akron, Canton, North Olmsted, Strongsville and Dublin.

Millersburg Brewing Co. 7 Lick Hill Wheat Hefeweizen: A crisp, refreshing German Style Wheat Beer with a faint fruity American twist. This Hefeweizen will leave you asking if it really is a beer! 5.25% ABV and available in Canton, North Olmsted, Strongsville and Dublin.

Millersburg will be hosting beer school in Akron on July 19th, in Strongsville on July 26th, in Dublin on August 8th, in Canton on August 29th, and in North Olmsted on September 13th.
