The Giving Back Burger: Feeding Our Community

The giving season is upon us, and we want to make this year extra special for those in need in the Buckeye State. In Ohio, more than 1 million people are struggling with hunger - and of them, roughly half are children. Hunger affects one out of seven people. We want to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors in need, but we need your help.

The Rail is partnering with local food banks to provide for families in need. Throughout the entire month of November, we will donate $2 to a local food bank for every ‘Giving Back Burger’ sold.

Once again, we’ve teamed up with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and The Greater Cleveland Food Bank to provide for our neighbors in need. In addition, we’re also donating to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank this year.

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, founded in 1982, provides food and other essential items to member hunger-relief programs in eight Northeast Ohio counties: Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas and Wayne. Their mission is to lead a collaborative network that empowers people to experience health and hunger-free lives. The Rail restaurants located in Akron and Canton will benefit the ACRFB.

Supporting our North Olmsted and Strongsville communities, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank is working to bridge the hunger gap so that each person has the nutritious meal they need to succeed every day. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio having provided more than 57 million meals in 2018 to people in Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Ashland and Richland counties.

The Mid-Ohio Food Bank, located in Grove City, provides enough food for about 155,000 meals each and every day to help stabilize families, connect hungry neighbors with community services to help them toward economic sufficiency, and energize the community to address root causes of hunger so everyone thrives. Proceeds from The Rail in Dublin will go to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.

Help us surpass our goal as we work to continue providing our community with fresh, nourishing food. In addition to the $2 donated for every ‘Giving Back Burger’ sold, you can also donate monetarily by adding onto your check.

The ‘Giving Back Burger’ is our Ohio Beef Burger topped with Truffle Aioli, Bacon, a Jalapeño Cheese Crisp, Red Onion and Spinach, served with Skinny Fries for $13.

Every $1 donated to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank provides $10 worth of groceries to hungry families and individuals. At the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank $1 can provide four meals, so it’s especially true that every dollar donated makes a difference.

Your gift will immediately fight hunger in our community.

All donations from The Rail in Akron and Canton will go directly to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, donations from The Rail in North Olmsted and Strongsville will benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, and The Rail in Dublin will give their donation to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
